lol i don’t think those ads are about the clothes at all .. but as i learn at uni-when advertising-its selling the experience/emotion of wearing such a brand… so its gonna be dark with bright light flashes coming from everywhere lol personally i think they way over did it..but who am i to say lol
Lara, thanks very much for your comment. Very few items can be sold on features, it’s the emotions and the experience of how they will make you feel that sells the product. Logically, this is the only way you can sell something that you can’t always experience before you buy it, like perfume. It’s not about the smell perse, but the excitement, the passion, the people that would be attracted to you that sells it. And because most of that goes on in your head, the advertising really just kickstarts you into daydreaming and selling the product to yourself! Let’s face it, we have very little resistance to our own fantasies. Perhaps the images are overdone, perhaps not. It depends on how much the person looking at the pictures wants to feel like they’ve got bright flashes coming off them from everywhere, I don’t know. Aesthetically speaking, I think the images are beautiful just to look at, marketing-wise though I couldn’t say, I’m a man and the images don’t appear to be aimed at me!
