David Downton has attended Paris Haute Couture shows since 1996. His illustrations chart both the back stage and front of house of the fashion world. His portfolio includes portraits of models Erin O’Connor, Lily Cole, Linda Evangelista, Carmen, Julia Roberts, Jerry Hall, Cate Blanchet and others. His commercial clients include Chanel, Tiffany & Co, Harrods, Dior, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar to name a few.

In 2007 he launched Pourquoi Pas? (Why not?), the first ever journal of Fashion Illustration
